I ADORE Worldwide Knit in Public (WWKIP) day.
Every year, our local yarn shop hosts events and giveaways that just seems to have the whole community buzzing. However, this year is a little extra special because St. John's is playing host to the one and only Rhichard Devrieze! We have been in love with his yarns since they first landed on the shelves, so it's an absolute treat to have him here in town for the weekend.
Back when this was all planned (in January...) Rhichard contacted me and asked if I wanted to write a design for his yarn that we could release during his visit. As a relatively newbie designer, this was the best thing that could ever possibly happen to anyone - I was asked for a design!
That design ended up being Atlantic - an angled shawl worked on the bias with some cute little eyelets and three colours of sock-weight yarn. I used Rhichard's Thede line in colourways Charcoal, Prescience, and St. John's Sunshine (appropriate...). I'm so pleased to release this pattern today not only as my TENTH published pattern, but as a representation of what partnership can accomplish. To me, it is indeed a celebration of WWKIP day.
This weekend, the pattern will be 15% off in my Ravelry Store with coupon code KS-WWKIP-ATL. I hope you enjoy the pattern and that you find yourself knitting in public sometime this weekend!
